PREPARING TO TEACH IN THE LIFE LONG LEARNING SECTOR.

The PTLLS course is an introduction for those who wish to train or teach. This qualification will provide trainers, facilitators and teachers the abilities to support learners. To undertake the course you are not required to hold any specific prior teaching qualifications. However, you must be qualified in the subject you aim to teach, by holding an appropriate professional qualification (Level 3 minimum) or by being employed in training or teaching role.

There are five topics to be covered within the PTLLS course; they include

Understand your own role

Responsibilities and boundaries of your role in relation to teaching

Demonstrate session planning skill

Understand the use of different assessment method

The need for record keeping

To achieve the PTLLS qualification, candidates must successfully complete both the theory and practice assignments which cover all five sections. You will need to complete some assignments, submit reflections or journals and some practical activities of which the micro teaching will be compulsory.

Some of the topics can be quite difficult to understand, so having a study guide to follow will help you. You can choose to do this qualification at either level 3 or 4, usually the level is determined by the assessment criteria or assignments.

Hello Ja, Thank you for expressing your concern that’s a very sincere one. The PTTLS Award Resource package contains examples of the assignment you will be required to submit and other pieces of work as stated above but this is meant to be a guide not what you should submit as your own work. It is stated clearly on every page that you should not copy but use it as a guide. The package here is written by someone from a health and social care background but it is still relevant to use as a guide as you will express your own answers relevant to your professsion. So Ja, if you are experiencing difficulty our PTTLS Resource package comes with free access to an online support where you can ask questions and receive guidance.
